America's Best Organics

AMERICA'S BEST ORGANICS
SPA COLLECTION GIVEAWAY

America's Best Organics is an organic gift basket brand offered by Best Organics, Inc., a majority woman-owned company, based in Boulder, Colorado.  Boulder is renowned as a center of natural, organic and sustainable business - a great resource for organic products!

America's Best Organics offers customers premium organic, fair trade and sustainable products from U.S.-based artisan producers and leading organic brands.  Customers have the option to make their own gift basket with these products or can select from a range of gifts that have already been created.

America's Best Organics' healthy gift baskets are filled with organic, artisan treats that are handpicked for their supreme taste, high-quality ingredients and sustainability initiatives.

They are a green company that thinks of their products as a "gift basket in a box". By offering gift boxes instead of baskets, they are able to lower their carbon footprint by reducing the need for an additional shipping box plus additional packing materials many of which are non-compostable or recyclable. They simply wrap their keepsake box in recycled paper and ship it.

America's Best Organics only uses recycled and recyclable materials and reuses or recycles all of their packaging received by their vendor partners.

Right now, America's Best Organics is giving away a great Spa Collection on their Facebook page. It includes Bare Body Soaps Organics' Green Tea & Lemongrass Soap, Rosemary Mint Soap, 3 Trial Size soap bars, St. Claire's Organics Watermelon Tart Candy, Goddess Garden Sunscreen Sample, Luna Bar White Macadamia Nut Bar, Licious Organics Cherry & Berry Cookie, Pangea Lip Balm, and a Lumia Jasmine Vanilla Candle.

Healthier Living & New Adventures

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and are looking forward to the new opportunities and adventures that 2012 will bring. I've decided that this is the year I focus on becoming as healthy as possible and I hope you are all trying to incorporate new healthy strategies in your life too.

During my life I have always been a thin person. Even after 7 pregnancies I was thin.  I would lose the pregnancy weight 3 months after each baby was born with absolutely no problem. Then, I became pregnant with twins and experienced morning sickness for the first time. The kind of morning sickness where you feel nauseous unless you are constantly eating. Didn't like that, and didn't like the weight gain that came with it.

Twins are a lot different than singletons. Imagine that! Of course I thought I knew that, but it was more challenging than I thought. I completely felt like a zombie for the first two years of my twins' life. I didn't lose all my weight, and wasn't exercising. So, of course, when the fog finally lifted and the twins were 2 years old, I started exercising and felt great! Then exactly 2 weeks later, I was visiting my son at the Air Force Academy with my family for his birthday and went climbing around the rocks at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. What fun we were all having!

Suddenly, I fell, and not wanting to land on the 2 year old I was carrying, I landed HARD on my shin.  OUCH!  Besides the embarrassment it brought it hurt, A LOT! Being the fun mom I try to be, I didn't stop to look at my leg. I just kept going. Climbing rocks, going out to lunch, climbing a few flights of stairs to the motel room, etc.  Of course my leg hurt, but we were visiting my son and I didn't want to ruin it.  Then I ended up in the ER later that night. Well, long story short, I seriously injured my leg and couldn't walk for a long time. It has taken 2 1/2 MORE YEARS to get to the point where I can exercise again.  YAY!!! I can finally exercise and I'm having fun doing it.

I've celebrated little victories. At first, I could only walk around my property 1 time before my leg hurt too much. I just kept going and added laps, a little at a time.  It took 6 months before I could walk 10 laps around.  Six months may seem like a long time, but I did it! I can now do much more.

My point is, if you have challenges in your life, just keep on trying. Even if your progress seems like it going along at a snails' pace. Just keep at it. If you do, who knows what you can accomplish! I couldn't exercise and felt unhealthy, so I decided to tackle other areas of my life to make them healthier. That's when I decided to eliminate as many toxins my family was exposed to. I started to make homemade soap, laundry detergent, cleaning products, etc. We started eating freshly-picked veggies from the garden, and incorporated many other healthy habits into our lives.

Who knows, if I didn't have twins, I may never have tried to make soap. I LOVE making soap and I love being the owner of Bare Body Soaps Organics so that I can share my soap with others. I hope I am helping others to choose healthier options by creating handcrafted soaps from certified organic oils that nourish the skin.

So, make 2012 the year you try new things, eat healthier, start a garden, eliminate toxins in your home, exercise, smile more, and have great adventures!

We have officially earned the Gold-Tier Level as a Green America approved business! Bare Body Soaps Organics is dedicated to our eco-friendly business practices. We utilize recycled and recyclable packaging, use sustainable ingredients, fair-trade ingredients, and our soap shop uses green practices in every aspect of our business.

Why don't you try to incorporate some green practices into your life?  Utilize day-lighting instead of flipping that switch. You can use recycled paper products, or switch to electronic communications. If you have a choice between a product made with sustainable resources versus one that isn't, purchase the one that does. There are so many ways to be green these days, and you don't have to do everything all at once.  Just pick one thing.  For example, recycle your water bottles, or don't buy plastic water bottles at all.  Reusable water bottles are great. You can always bring your own bag to the store instead of using the plastic ones they give you. At our local grocery store, you can receive $0.10 per bag discount off of your grocery bill just for bringing your own bags. Start small and add a new eco-friendly practice when you are ready. Small steps can lead to big results!

Leaping Bunny's 15th Anniversary

Bare Body Soaps Organics is proud to be certified cruelty-free by The Leaping Bunny Program. The Leaping Bunny Program is turning 15 years old in November!  Help our friends at Leaping Bunny celebrate their 15th anniversary by taking their pledge to go cruelty-free.  The Leaping Bunny Logo provides the best assurance that a product is free of animal testing.  Take the leap today!  www.leapingbunnypledge.org  The Program, administered by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC), provides consumers with the best assurance that personal care and household products are truly cruelty-free.

Leaping Bunny Milestones:

  • Certified almost 400 companies as cruelty-free.
  • Distributed more than 235,000 copies annually of the Compassionate Shopping Guide, a wallet-sized guide listing all certified companies.
  • Developed the only free cruelty-free app for both the iPhone and Android phones.
  • Amassed the largest number of "likes" on Facebook in the realm of cruelty-free shopping.
In a sea of bunny logos and "no animal testing" statements, shoppers can rest assured that Leaping Bunny's high standard is the best of the best, requiring companies and their ingredient suppliers to not only commit to no new animal testing, but to also be open to independent audits.  The Leaping Bunny Logo is the only internationally recognized logo for cruelty-free certification and has been named as the most trusted cruelty-free logo by leading consumer blogs and magazines.
